About Me

I recently retired, after finishing my active ministry as the Interim Rector at St Michael's Church in Bristol, Rhode Island. Prior to this I have served for over thirty years as an Episcopal priest in parish and diocesan settings, most recently as Canon to the Ordinary in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts from June 2013 to September 2024. My primary work in diocesan ministry was to support clergy and congregations toward the larger goal of furthering God's Reign of mercy, compassion, and hope, especially in times of clergy transitions. I've also taught the Bible to undergraduates as a lecturer at Assumption College in Worcester.

This blog is a place where I try to "think out loud" about matters of faith and life in the 21st century, a time when we face not only great challenges but also extraordinary opportunities.

I have been married to Hathy since 1986; we live in Worcester. Our two grown sons are married. We have one grandson and one on the way.
