Caesarea Maritima Photos

So we made a loop basically in our trek from Jerusalem to the Sea of Galilee region. We headed north initially via the west coast, along the Mediterranean, and stopped along the way at Caesarea National Park. (Not to be confused with Caesarea Philippi!) This Caesarea was a major port on the Mediterreanean to the rest of the world. Above is Chris in front of one of those famous Roman aquaducts and below another shot.

This Caesarea is the location for some scenes in Acts involving both Paul and Peter. It was awarded by Rome to Herod the Great in 30 BCE and was a planned city that took twelve years to build.
